About the brand
Ibo maraca creates handmade elegant accessories, always with respect to nature, of masterful craftsmanship, opulence and exceptional style which reveals every woman’s individuality and uniqueness.
The name of the brand is an anagram of the Venezuelan city of Maracaibo, which is the birthplace of Effie Vakaki, one of Ibo-Maraca’s founders.
The idea to create the brand came from my great love for handmade hats, I own a large personal collection. My favorite hat is the genuine Panama, from Ecuador, which is the "birthplace" of Panama hat. While I love these hats, I've always found them lacking in design. Thus, together with my daughter Christina, the idea of the hand-painted hat was born, implemented by excellent and renowned artists. The expertise of the artists we work with, combined with our inspiration and beautiful images and memories from our travels give another dimension to the hat.
Born in Venezuela and raised in Greece and inspired by her exotic roots and the vibrant spirit of the Mediterranean, Effie set off to create a brand that combines classic with contemporary style. So, in 2014, Effie and her daughter Christina founded Ibo-Maraca and dedicated themselves to the creation of high-quality hats, bags and accessories. Elegance, attention to detail & sustainability are the brand’s essence.
We strongly believe in the value of the handmade, as through the long process of its creation, it acquires soul and energy.
As a brand we believe that accessories are what make every woman individual and unique. Our goal is to emphasize the diversity of every woman by giving her the possibility to acquire accessories full of color, creativity, with details of what lies beyond perception.
Our brand always loyal to craftsmanship creates products that are made exclusively from the Ibo-maraca's creative team. Each new collection is a challenge for us as we develop our work and challenge our imagination, which is always implemented by excellent and renowned artists.
